The Florida Citrus Production Managers Association was founded in 1937 to provide an opportunity for professional managers of citrus to interact. The primary function of the association is to offer educational material to the members. In addition FCPMA has been the driving force to obtain research dollars through the "box tax" program. Administrated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Florida Citrus Production Research Advisory Council provides funding for numerous projects. This self imposed tax has been instrumental in directing research efforts in Florida. FCPMA continues to support the "box tax and most of the members of the council are also members of the association.
The Florida Citrus Production Managers Association feels FAWN provides a vital data base for citrus and is pleased to participate in the sponsor program. FAWN data is part of the many tools used by citrus production managers every day. Real time weather is critical for citrus managers; whether it be for cold protection or disease control. FAWN is pleased to be a part of the decision making process used by professional citrus managers and thanks their association for providing financial support.
